FAQs For First Shift
If you are accepting your first shift with Wyrk, you may have questions.
I've picked up a shift. Now what do I do?
Please view the shift in your schedule. See Viewing Shifts in Your Schedule. Check the shift date and time and the location to double-check that you can make the shift. If you will take public transit to the shift, please check that you can get there and back. If you can't work the shift, please drop it so that someone else can work it. See Dropping a Shift.
Do I need training or a uniform?
You will only be offered shifts that you are qualified for. If extensive training is required, you will not be offered the shift unless you have been through that training. Sometimes a short onsite orientation is required. That would be included in your shift.
There are often uniform requirements, like a particular colour of pants. Please read the shift notes for uniform requirements. The client will often provide additional uniform onsite, like a shirt with a logo.
How will I get paid?
Pay will be deposited directly into your bank account. We process pay once a week. See Getting Paid by Wyrk.
If things change, and I can't work my shift, what do I do?
If you accept a shift, we expect you to work it. If things change and you need to drop a shift, see Dropping a Shift. If you don't show up for your shift without letting us know, you won't be allowed to work any more shifts.
How do I record the time I work?
You need to check in and out of your shift on the Wyrk app. If you don't, your pay may be delayed. See Checking In and Out of a Shift.
